Listing is for a Japanese model Backwards Compatible PS3 60 GB CECHA00. The PS3 is now region free and confirmed to play US versions of PS1 and PS3 games. Note that it will read Blueback PS2 discs, but will not read Silverback PS2 discs. This may be an easy fix for someone with the knowledge to repair.
